Skilled to go
Learning everyday consumer skills – a teachers' toolkit
Developed by the Office of Fair Trading and LLU+ at London South Bank University, Skilled to go helps to develop transferable consumer skills, knowledge and confidence. It uses everyday consumer situations, such as choosing a mobile phone, as contexts for learning numeracy and literacy.

We developed Skilled to go for tutors working in further education with adults or young adults. The resources are designed for learners at:
- Access 2 and 3
- Intermediate 1 and 2
- Entry 3, Level 1, Level 2, and
- include suggestions for use with ESOL/ language learners.
Skilled to go offers fully authorable learning resources - in the form of activities rather than session plans - and contains discrete content for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. There are three modules: you'll find games, quizzes, listening and video activities and a range of tactile materials, as well as comprehensive teacher notes and background information. Our review and update programme will keep the content current.
Skilled to go was trialed at two further education colleges. Find out what teachers and students thought.
