The OFT held a stakeholder event on 2 March 2011 at the OFT launching the final version of the guidance setting out the procedures it follows in Competition Act investigations and the one-year trial of a Procedural Adjudicator in competition cases.
The event followed consultation on a draft of the guidance, which included a roundtable held at the OFT in October 2010.

OFT Chairman Philip Collins delivered a speech highlighting the developments as well as putting them in the context of the ongoing process of transformation at the OFT. In the speech, he announced that Jackie Holland would be taking on the role of the Procedural Adjudicator during the one-year trial period.

Jackie Holland, OFT Director of Competition Policy, gave a Powerpoint presentation providing more detail about the content of the guidance, including parts that had changed following consultation. She also elaborated on the one-year trial of the Procedural Adjudicator role. As noted above, she will taking on this role during the trial period.

Jackie's talk was followed by a Q&A session in which delegates explored the developments in more depth with Philip and Jackie.
