The OFT cannot provide advice or assistance to individual consumers or traders. If you require consumer advice, information on specific consumer rights or wish to make a consumer complaint against a trader, please visit www.adviceguide.org.uk or call the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 08454 04 05 06.
We receive lots of common enquiries. For answers to these, please see the FAQs section. The Citizens Advice consumer service provides free, confidential and impartial advice on consumer issues. Visit www.adviceguide.org.uk or call the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 08454 04 05 06.
In certain industries, the sectoral regulators (see list below) have been given 'concurrent powers' to apply and enforce competition law. If your complaint concerns anti-competitive practices or behaviour in one of the sectors listed below, contact the sectoral regulator first as they will be best placed to address your concerns.
Please note the OFT does not oversee other sectoral regulators and is not responsible for supervising their actions or reviewing their decisions. If you are unhappy with a decision made by one of the sectoral regulators you should contact the regulator concerned.
